OMRON Corporation Industrial Automation Company (hereinafter referred to as the Company) strictly observes all applicable laws and ordinances related to personal information, but further pledges to manage and use personal information supplied by an individual to the Company or collected online on this website in an appropriate manner, in conformance with our Privacy Policy stipulated below:

1. Personal Information

The Company refers information by which an individual is or may be identified (including information that by itself cannot identify an individual but can easily be associated with other personally identifiable information) to as the Personal Information. Such information could be in the form of written or printed text, symbols, images, sounds, and data processed or stored in computers or other digital or electronic devices. Specifically, the Personal Information includes, but is not limited to names, ages, telephone numbers, email addresses, mailing addresses, company names, information regarding products or services purchased, and details of inquiries to the Company.

2. Basic Policy on the Personal Information Protection and Management

  1. OMRON will collect, obtain, use and provide the Personal Information in an appropriate manner.
  2. OMRON will make best efforts to ensure personal data to be precise and up-to-date.
  3. OMRON will take necessary and appropriate measures to manage personal data including protecting personal data against unauthorized access, loss, leak and damage.
  4. OMRON will comply with laws, regulations and the guidelines for them as well as internal rules on the Personal Information.
  5. When contracting the handling of personal data to a third party, OMRON will only entrust to a contractor who meets the requirements based on OMRON’s internal rules. OMRON will manage such contractors in an appropriate manner.
  6. OMRON will continue to try improving protection of the Personal Information.

4. Purposes of Usage of the Personal Information

The Personal Information obtained from customers will be used for the following purposes.

  1. Provision and guidance of various information including information concerning the products and services handled by OMRON, its affiliates, or other business partners (hereinafter referred to as the Products)
  2. Guidance and execution of events including campaigns and exhibitions concerning the Products
  3. Provision of samples and various materials including catalogs and CD-ROMs concerning the Products
  4. Implementation and analysis of questionnaires for planning, development and sales of the Products
  5. Provision and maintenance of the Products ordered or purchased by customers

5. Shared Use of the Personal Information

The Company will share the following Personal Information.

(1) Scope of shared use

Subsidiaries of OMRON, the Company's distributor, and other business partners

(2) Purpose of use by the user

  1. Provision and guidance of various information including information concerning the Products
  2. Guidance and execution of events including campaigns and exhibitions concerning the Products
  3. Provision of samples and various materials including catalogs and CD-ROMs concerning the Products
  4. Implementation and analysis of questionnaires for planning, development and sales of the Products
  5. Provision and maintenance of the Products ordered or purchased by customers

(3) Shared Use of Personal Data Items

Company name, company address, business office, division name, position, name, age, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address

(4) Name of a Person Responsible for the Personal Data Items

6. Providing the Personal Information to Third Parties

OMRON will not disclose or provide personal data to third parties without consent of a person in question, except in the following cases. However, even in the cases of 5, 6 and 7 below, OMRON will obtain consent of the person in question before personal data is provided to third parties in foreign countries in the following cases:

  1. When required by laws and regulations
  2. When necessary to protect life, well-being or property of the person in question, and when it is difficult to obtain the consent of them
  3. When necessary particularly for improving public health or promoting healthy growth of children, and when it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person in question
  4. When necessary to provide cooperation to national agencies, municipalities, or entities which are entrusted by such governmental organizations in the performance of their tasks required by laws and regulations, and when obtaining consent from the person in question can hinder the proper execution of such tasks
  5. When contracting out a part of or the entire operations to a contractor for facilitating smooth operations (in this case, OMRON will conclude an agreement with the contractor on the handling and protecting of the Personal Information and manage such information in an appropriate manner)
  6. When the consent of the person in question has been obtained in advance
  7. When the Personal Information is jointly used as described in 5 above
  8. When a business is transferred and succeeded

7. Requests for Disclosure, etc. of the Personal Information

The Company will answer, within a reasonable time period, requests from the relevant individual or a party acting on behalf of that individual for disclosure of and amendments, additions, or deletions to the content of the Personal Information collected and/or used by the Company, or suspension of use or erasure of the Personal Information (hereinafter referred to as "Disclosure Requests, etc."). To make the Disclosure Requests, etc., please follow the procedures described below:

• If you are resident outside of Japan, contact us noted in Section 8, or contact our sales office in your country

• If you are resident in Japan, please follow the procedures described below

(1) Applications for the Disclosure Requests, etc.

Applications for the Disclosure Requests, etc. should be sent by post to the address noted in Section 8. Please write "Applications for the Disclosure Requests, etc. enclosed" with red ink on the front side of envelope.

(2) Documents and materials to be submitted for the Disclosure Requests, etc.

When making the Disclosure Requests, etc., download the request form (A) and fill out all of the designated sections of the request form. Also enclose the documents for identity verification (B) and a reply envelope (C) with your address written on it (the address should be the same as that written in the documents for identity verification), and send it to the address noted in Section 8 below.

When requesting notice of the intended purpose of usage or disclosure of the Personal Information, please affix an 800-yen stamp on the reply envelope, as discussed below in Section C.

    Any one of the following documents must be enclosed in the same envelope when submitting a request form:

    • Certificate of a registered seal impression ("Inkanshomeisho," needed if the applicant's registered seal is affixed to the OMRON-specified request form)
    • Copy of driver's license
    • Copy of passport
    • Copy of Certificate of Alien Registration
    • Copy of residence card
    • Copy of special permanent resident certificate

    Alternatively, both of the following may be submitted:

    • Copy of government-issued health insurance certificate or pension booklet ("Nenkintecho")
    • Official copy of Family Register ("Kosekitohon") or Certificate of Residence ("Juminhyo")

    |Request submitted by a representative
    1. For contracted representative
    One copy of each of the following documents must be enclosed in the same envelope:

    • Power of Attorney (should have the impression of the applicant's registered seal)
    • Certificate of the Inkanshomeisho that contains the same seal impression as the applicant’s seal affixed on the Power of Attorney
    • Document(s) verifying the representative's identity
      (Same documents as those listed above for identity verification of the applicant may be used)

    2. For legal representative
    One copy of each the following documents should be submitted:

    i. For a minor
    Copy of family resister of a person in question or copy of health insurance card with the names of dependents

    ii. For an adult ward
    Documents to prove registration as prescribed in Section 10 of the Act on Guardianship Registration, etc.

    • Document to prove the right for legal representation for a minor or an adult ward
    • ID documents of the legal representative
      (the same ID documents as required for the person in question above)
  3. Reply envelope
    • Please write down the address of the applicant or representative (should be the same as that written on the document verifying the identity of the applicant or representative).
    • When notifying the purpose of use or requesting disclosure, please affix a stamp that covers the cost of certified registered mail.

(3) Response to the Disclosure Requests, etc.

A written response will be sent to you using the enclosed reply envelope.

(4) When the Request for Disclosure, etc. cannot be granted:

The Request for Disclosure, etc. will not be granted when laws and regulations present the grounds and when there are flaws in the information presented in accordance with (2) above.

9. About the use of cookies
